ThorpeWood Lodge
ThorpeWood Lodge provides an intimate setting for smaller groups, yet is spacious enough to accommodate groups of 150. Guests can relax in the Council Room in front of the fireplace, or enjoy the sounds of Bussard Branch in a rocker on our Screened Porch. Our dining area, the Chestnut Room, has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views of Catoctin Mountain’s interior forest. The Tree Room’s beautiful walnut floors and open space is ideal for workshops, seminars and receptions.

ThorpeWood Grounds
Hidden more than 1,000 feet off a quiet mountain road, ThorpeWood is nestled 1,500 feet high in the Catoctin Mountains set into a forested hillside overlooking a native trout stream known as Bussard Branch. Encompassing 100+ acres, divided by a rocky and pristine trout stream, and adjacent to more than 20,000 acres of dramatic public parks and preserves, ThorpeWood is secluded and feels remote. However, it is only 55 miles from Baltimore or Washington, D.C. Our natural setting offers many beautiful locations for your event, including our beautiful Stone Bridge, Arboretum, Pine Cathedral, Willow Pond, Pavilion and flower gardens!
