In This Issue
ThorpeWood is a mountain retreat for at-risk youth. We are situated in a secluded hollow of Catoctin Mountain, a beautiful setting that includes forests, mountain meadows, pastures, wetlands, and native trout streams. Our mission is to provide year-round, exceptional customized programs that are intended to help change the lives of the young people we serve.

Nominated for a 2009 Grammy for Best Classical Crossover Album,composer and performer Ronn McFarlane is launching his band, Ayreheart, to perform his original compositions. In addition to his lute, the group includes vocalist, harp, flute, fretless bass and percussion. His music combines folk, bluegrass, jazz and classical genres. ThorpeWood Has a New Valentine's Day Concert & Dinner Tradition!

Ruut returned to ThorpeWood on Valentine's Day for a really fun and extremely successful fundraising event!
We have scheduled another Valentine's Day concert for next year (Sunday, February 13, 2011), and Ruut has agreed to come back – we are very excited about this new ThorpeWood tradition!
Also, we would like to thank all of those who braved the snowy roads to come up to the lodge.
