Community Potluck Dinners

Since they began in 2002, Community Dinners at ThorpeWood have sought to introduce neighbors to each other and foster a stronger sense of community. The cornerstone of these dinners is the realization that we're neighbors who share a love for the Catoctin Mountains we call home. Organized by volunteers, each dinner features a different dynamic speaker who educates guests on topics as diverse as black bears, bug mimicry, watersheds and amphibians. Check our online calendar for upcoming dates. Bring a dish to share with at least 6 people. All are welcome.

With the theme of "Morels," March's vegetarian potluck was a huge success. After dinner Eric Kayzak told about his future Eagle Scout project of building ThorpeWood's raptor cage, and Elizabeth Barron shared a wealth of information about the highly sought-after Morel mushroom.
